Imposing Ahbash may spiral out and risky, Badr warns

Badr, the largest umbrella of Ethiopian Muslim organizations warned that the national security could be undermined if Ahbashs continue imposing deviant teaching and succeed with their foreign agenda of disrupting the harmonious coexistence of Muslims with different opinion and other regions.

Badr expressed his concern in a meeting with the Ethiopian officials, including the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs at the Ethiopian Embassy in US.

The deputy prime minister on his side expressed government`s concern of the ambition of some groups to establish Islamic government, warning that on any group who may disrupt the peace and stability of the country would be cracked down.

Badr on its side confirmed its support for a government of secular nature in Ethiopia, and promised to launch a fact finding mission on the issue, requesting a meeting with the Prime Minister.
